GREYSTONE DIGITAL FILES SUIT AGAINST CHESTER CREEK TECHNOLOGIES
CHARLOTTE, NC--August 10, 2005--Greystone Digital Inc., inventor and maker of the BigKeys keyboards, today announced that it has filed suit against Chester Creek Technologies. Greystone Digital believes that Chester Creek and its officers are liable for conversion, unjust enrichment, and unfair and deceptive trade practices. A complete copy of the complaint can be found on Greystone Digital's website.
This suit stems from a previously settled lawsuit filed by Greystone Digital against Secret Seven Corporation and George Kessler, once nightly weatherman for KBJR-TV, Duluth (MN). Secret Seven manufactured and sold the same products that are now sold by Chester Creek. Chester Creek Technologies is headed by Mr. James Gustafson; Mr. Gustafson also served as CEO of Secret Seven Corporation, which is now defunct.
Greystone Digital Inc., a small North Carolina corporation, has been manufacturing and selling BigKeys keyboards since 1994. BigKeys brand computer keyboards feature very large keys that are 1-inch square, 4 times as big as standard keys. Greystone offers 2 BigKeys models: the BigKeys LX, for adult computer users and those with disabilities that limit use of a standard keyboard; and, the BigKeys Plus, specifically designed for young children and other computer users needing a more limited, less confusing, number of keys.
Chester Creek Technologies has recently begun to offer large-key boards, also with 1-inch square keys and similar layout to Greystone's BigKeys LX model keyboards.
According to it's website, Chester Creek Technologies operates from Duluth MN. Chester Creek's CEO, Mr. Gustafson, is a former Minnesota state senator and a businessman in Duluth. Mr. Gustafson further manages a consultancy firm, Split Rock Management, also operating from Duluth. Gustafson served as a commissioner of the Iron Range Resources and Rehabilitation Board (IRRRB), a state economic development agency charged, in part, with bringing technology jobs to the Iron Range area of Minnesota. The keyboards marketed by Chester Creek Technology are manufactured in China.
